Janet Ravivo
Founder of Tale Talks, Teacher
Janet Ravivo is a teacher and writer based in Toronto, Canada. She has worked with children and teens for over 14 years and holds a Bachelor’s degree from Queen’s University.
As a former English language teacher and avid lover of fiction, Janet was inspired to design classes for young readers and writers who are passionate about stories. Through her interactive online book clubs and creative writing classes, she has connected hundreds of children and teens from around the globe. Janet’s classes provide a unique opportunity for students to engage in debate, open discussion, and creative collaboration. As the founder of Tale Talks, she is dedicated to bringing young people together through their shared love of storytelling and providing meaningful creative outlets for budding writers.
Janet discovered her love for reading and writing at an early age and has since written countless short stories and genre-inspired works for her students and followers. She is especially passionate about fantasy and science fiction, with some of her favorite series including, His Dark Materials, The Hunger Games, The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, and The Lord of the Rings.
Sophia Ravivo
Teacher
Sophia Ravivo is psychology student at Toronto Metropolitan University. She has two years of experience working with children as a team leader for Girl Guides of Canada organizing and running sleepaway camps for young girls. More recently, she has worked as a peer tutor at her University.
Sophia is an avid reader, writer, painter, and musician. She is especially passionate about sci-fi, dystopian, and fantasy novels, including Harry Potter, Dune, and The Hunger Games. Sophia aims to spark students’ imaginations, help them build confidence, and foster a welcoming community where young readers and writers can express their ideas.
